Be Careful What You Lease For

Be Careful What You Use ForIf you’re in charge of a shipping company that doesn’t always ship the same products day in and day out, you’ve probably dealt with an order with certain special needs. Maybe it’s a load of hair care products and cosmetics that needs to reach Montana in the dead of winter, or perhaps you’ve got a trailer full of smart phones destined for stores in Oklahoma City, but it’s the middle of July and the worst heat wave of the year is just around the corner.

To ship temperature-sensitive cargo, you need a reefer truck or trailer to get the product safely to its destination. But if your company doesn’t deal with such cargo on a regular basis, you may not have a reefer model on hand or else any you do have may already be in use. That means having to lease a reefer unit short-term to cover the run, and that means seeing its rental cost cut into your profit margins.

However, renting a full truck or trailer doesn’t have to be your only option. At ProtekCargo, we offer leasing options for all our thermal blanket products, including our flagship SureTemp cargo blankets and our thermal pallet covers, which are designed specifically for when only part of your load needs protection from the elements.

We offer leases for single shipments, but if you need our products more often than that we also offer monthly leases that you can choose to renew or not renew however often you like. We’ll even throw in free cleaning and repair services for as long as the lease lasts. If your shipping centers are within the continental U.S., we also offer free delivery and pickup for our blankets no matter how far apart they are.

Alternately, if you find yourself in need of a little passive temperature control once every few months or a few times each year, it might be wisest to simply buy a couple SureTemp blankets to keep around for whenever you need them. Our durable products can withstand ten years of constant use, and when they’re folded up they hardly take up any space at all.

Managing cargo with special needs can be rough, especially when you’ve got shipping deadlines to meet. While some types of cargo demand carefully controlled conditions and sub-zero temperatures, for other loads all you really need is a good, sturdy blanket.
