Shipping With Unreliable Weather

By March 8, 2016 No Comments

When you are out on the road as much as a trucker is, you get to see a lot of weather. Though some days can be wonderful and allow you to roll down the windows for a fresh breeze, other days are quite dangerous as you find yourself hitting rain, snow, and other forms of unfriendly weather. With some areas of the US, it isn’t too hard to know what you can expect from it weather wise.

However, even then weather can be rather unreliable and when you are traveling long distances, you are going to see a whole lot of it whether you like it or not. It won’t matter if where you loaded the product was just a cool and sunny day if where you are headed is surrounded by piles and piles of snow. This doesn’t just effect your driving experience, but also the quality and safety of the products you are shipping as well.

Here are just a few of the weather conditions you have to consider when you are out on the road.

Heat

Whether it is a very hot summer day or the sun is heating up your truck, things get heated. Sadly, when they do, it can be your products that end up paying the price for it. From melting cosmetics to fruit going bad, several kinds of products are simply not made for that kind of heat. If that wasn’t bad enough, heat is known for really making certain products smell awful, making them unsellable.

Freezing

Unless you are carrying a product like meat or dairy, it is unlikely that your products are made to be frozen. The actual freezing of it isn’t the main problem, but rather what happens after it defrosts from time spent being frozen. This can cause beverages and several other products to explode while others just lose all their effectiveness. As you can imagine, this isn’t great for business.

Moisture

From rain to snow to humidity, there are several ways that moisture could end up within your truck with your precious cargo. There isn’t many products that can withstand moisture without some kind of damage. While certain products will experience a little fading, others are at risk for mold and permanent staining.

Weather may be unreliable, but our cargo blankets are!

Thanks to our SureTemp insulating cargo blankets, you can ensure temperature stability for all of your products. These blankets keep away warmth to insure that your cargo stays cool while also using a foil layer to reflect the IR radiation.

During the winter however, these SureTemp cargo blankets are easily able to trap in warmth to keep your shipment stable and above freezing for long periods of time. Not only that, but our SureTemp cargo blankets also ensure that you products are insulated against any moisture that may try to come your way.

Basically, don’t risk your cargo and get the temperature protection you need to keep your products safe on the road!
